Two key staff members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Secretariat have tested positive for Covid-19.
This has been revealed on Wednesday by the ruling party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba.
“This morning, two of our key staff at the National Resistance Movement – NRM Party Secretariat tested positive for COVID-19 and have been admitted to the Hospital for proper care,” Lumumba said in a statement.
“We are working with the technical people and further guidance will be given in due course.I urge everyone to stay alert, healthy and safe.”
Earlier today, the Ministry of Health confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cumulative cases to 1140.
” Of the five new cases, four are alerts from Kampala Metropolitan area while one is a contact to a previous confirmed case. The contact was under quarantine at the time of the test,” said Dr Henry G Mwebesa, the Director General Health Services at the Ministry of Health.
Currently, Uganda has 1028 cumulative recoveries with two registered deaths.
