Singer Ethan Kavuma has been declared winner of the first edition of Sanyu FM’s Hot Mic talent search competition.
On Friday, Ethan was able to walk home with the Shs3 million grand prize set for a winner, after out-competing his fellows in a ‘hot-heated’ finale that took place at Sanyu FM’s offices on Crane Chambers.
In addition to the cash prize, Ethan was awarded a two-years presenter contract at Sanyu FM among other things.
Emotional are surprised about his win, the upcoming vocalist revealed that it has always been his dream to work with Sanyu FM and is very happy for the opportunity granted.
“it has always been my dream to work on Sanyu FM and I am so happy about this,” he said.
According to Roger Mugisha, the program’s Director of Sanyu FM, this competition saw over 1300 entries and they are happy to officially welcome Ethan to the team.
“Sanyu FM Management realized the need to mentor potential candidates for radio in an era where presenters seem to be recycled from one station to another. Congratulations to him and welcome to 88.2 Sanyu FM the best radio and music,” he said.
Ethan achieved this milestone after outshining other finalists who included Timothy Code, Keith Karuhuura, Sandra Dope, Philo Mena, Kyle Duncan, Stella Nanye, Immy Namanya, and Harris Mukiibi.
