Members of Parliament, almost exchanged blows in NTV studios on Thursday night, after one told the other she deserved to die.
Forum for Democratic Change secretary general, Nandala Mafabi and Kampala woman lawmaker Nabilah Sempala were guests On the Spot hosted by Patrick Kamala.
The heated debate comes on the heels of Nabilah’a rejection by the party after she turned up after deadlines to nominations has passed.
Nabilah wants to contest for Lord Mayor of Kampala City, however she believes her party FDC has ring-fenced the seat for incumbent Erias Lukwago, who is not an FDC member but an ally for Dr Kizza Besigye, the larger than life figure in the Najjanankumbi based party.
Nandala however made it clear to Nabilah that her nomination was declined because she had abandoned the party cause and instead, hobnobbed with the ruling party.
The FDC secretary general added that Nabilah has not been paying up her dues which meant she was not subscribing to the party. On top of that, he apologized to the people of Kampala explaining that Nabilah has not been attending parliament, especially during controversial debates.
When Nabilah explained that she was ill during the age limit debate, Nandala scoffed her off.
“Why didn’t you die?” Nandala asked, incensing Nabilah.
The Kampala Woman MP threatened to leave the show after the baby, prompting host Patrick Kamala to intervene and the producer, switched to a break.
Nabilah vowed to stand for Lord Mayor of Kampala with or without FDC ticket and Nandala assures her of defeat because she has no platform.
However, Nabilah had more to say when she compared FDC to abattoir.
“Forum for Democratic Change(FDC) is like a political abattoir political death happen”.
