National Water and Sewerage Association (NWSC) Managing Director Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha was on Friday elected President of the African Water Association (AFWA).
Dr. Silver was elected by the AFWA executive board. He is the first Ugandan to hold the position.
AFWA is a professional association with over 100 utility members from over 50 countries across Africa. It is the biggest and strongest agenda setting policy influencing and solution seeking association on the continent
In 2016, Dr. Mugisha was elected Vice President of the International Water Association (IWA).
In February 2018, his term as Vice President on the AFWA board was renewed at their 19th Congress in Bamako Mali.
