The newly appointed Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs Catherine Kusasira has declined to meet Kampala NRM party leaders especially the district chairperson Salim Uhuru saying that they must first respect her by officially invite her in writing.
The party leaders recently expressed their need to meet Kusasira to see how they can work together-but they never invited her officially.
Now speaking to NTV Uganda on Saturday, Kusasira said that her position is superior to any of theirs and that they have to write formally to her first if they want to meet her.
“They have to write to me, my position is far above theirs. If they feel we need to talk they should to it officially so that I go and meet them, we find a way forward,” Kusasira who is also a musician said.
Early this month, Uhuru said that he felt demotivated and heartbroken following President Yoweri Musveni’s appointment of faded singer Buchaman and Kusasira as Presidential envoy on ghetto affairs and Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs respectively.
Uhuru, claims that the national party chairman had ignored existing party structures while appointing representatives and distributing funds in the city.
“They have gone purposely because of Bobi Wine, the president of Ghetto in Kamwokya. But me I am the chairman of Ghetto. He would have used me. I have sacrificed my life, time and money to ensure the NRM party succeeds in Kampala,” Uhuru said.
“I am totally demotivated. My heart is wounded and my effort and courage is gone. So let me concentrate on my other businesses,” he added.
