Unknown thugs broke into the offices of UPET Petrol station in Bweyogere, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district and stole four million shillings.

The incident happened at unknown time on Thursday.

Police Officers who were on routine patrol on Friday at 4:30am saw the staff of UPET staggering and they thought they were drunk on duty which is dangerous. They checked on them and they realised that they had been drugged.

Police notified management of UPET and rushed the two Pump Attendants and a security guard of Centenary Bank to Naguru hospital for treatment. The security guard was guarding ATM machine that is near the petrol station.

The victims that are currently admitted at Naguru hospital are Okello Francis, Akuo Richard and Okware Richard.

According to one of the security guards of UPET, they were two but they had a local arrangement of one sleeping as another one is guarding. He slept and his colleague who was guarding is missing.

Police says they suspect the missing security guard to have connived with the thugs to rob the petrol station. He is called Balinda Moses.

“We are investigating a case of robbery. We appealed to anybody with information that can led us to the arrest of Balinda Moses to pass it in confidence to the nearest Police station or post,” Police said in a statement.
