Police in Kanungu district are investigating circumstances under which a man allegedly murdered his sister-in-law by using a hammer.
The deceased identified as Grace Kyasimire, 26 hailed from Kahama village Kanyantorogo subcounty, Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that on Sunday, October 27 at about 8:30 pm while at Kahama village, Burema Kanyantorongo sub-county, Kanungu, Obed Turyasingura, attacked her brother’s wife and hit her with a hammer on the head.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate, the deceased was rushed to a private clinic at Kihihi where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kihihi Health center IV for postmortem as the hunt for a suspect is ongoing.
“The motive for the attack and murder has not yet been known. This case has been registered at Kihihi police under file number SD 23/27/10/19,” Maate said.
