Parents have been cautioned to be more vigilant on how their children are dropped off and picked from school. This after Lwanga Musa was arrested for abducting 16 school children on Monday morning.
According to the police, Lwanga while driving motor vehicle registration number UAU 260L was arrested with the children aged 4-13, all pupils of St Peter’s Katulo Primary School in Sigi L1, Mbazi Parish, Mpigi district .
“Upon getting the information from Ndegeya Peter, the head teacher of the said school, a team of detectives swang in action commanded by Oc station Bujuuko and managed to intercept the suspect and arrested him in Bujuuko,” a statement from police says in part.
“ All 16 children were rescued and later reunited with their parents.”
It was later established that Lwanga allegedly picks up children from schools and along the way without the consent of the parents. He then takes them to hospital for circumcision as he earns Shs50,000 per child.
He is currently detained at Bujuuko Police station as investigations go on into the matter.
