Kamwokya-based television station NBS is once again losing another of its flagship journalists.
Watchdog Uganda understands that Joseph Sabiiti, who is currently in China, has tendered in his resignation to leave NBS TV where he has been a producer and senior political reporter.
Sabiiti, according to our sources, will not be on NBS after November 20, 2019.
Sabiiti who produces the station’s political show The Frontline, has been pondering quitting NBS for quite some time.
This development is a big blow to NBS, which has branded itself as a political command center.
With the next general election just a year away in 2021, the lack of a reporter of Sabiiti calibre is likely to dent NBS clout in the industry.
He now follows journalists such as Simon Muyanga Lutaaya, Sheila T. Mugisha, Darren Kyeyune, John Baptist Imokola and Abubaker Ssettumba Ttaaba to leave that station also famed for poaching seasoned journalists from other media houses.
