The Uganda Police Force is going to publish photos of other three suspect on the run who murdered social worker Maria Nagirinya and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa a few weeks ago.
Nagirinya 28-year-old who was working as a project manager at Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI) together with Kitayimbwa were kidnapped and murdered last month.
Their bodies were recovered in Nakitutuli village in Nama sub-county, Mukono district, along Mukono Kayunga road on 29th August.
Since the murder incident, so far four prime suspects have been arrested and these include Kasolo Copliano commonly known as Arsenal (headed the deal and was a driver who was seen in the CCTV footage).
There is also Lubega Johnson alias Rasta who also worked under Kasolo’s influence, Kiseeka Hassan alias Massadda who mobilised bodaboda raiders that carried the suspects up to Nagirinya’s gate where they kidnapped them from and lastly one of the Bodaboda raiders called Kalyango Nasif aka Muwonge who drove the suspect to gate and waited until the mission was completed then after drove off.
While addressing journalists at Central Police Station Kampala on Monday, Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said that the criminal files of the four are ready to be sent to the office of Director of Public Prosecution for court proceedings.
“The good news we have is that we have identified photos of three other suspects who were also part of this plot, and our task teams are out there hunting for them. One of the three was behind the plot with Kasolo and the other two are Bodaboda raiders,” said Enanga.
According to Police, One of the two Bodaboda raiders was the first to be hired to drive the suspects to Nagirinya’s gate but when he discovered that they were going to kill her, he refused the deal but he never alerted Police.
“One of the Bodaboda is hunted for concealing information which was very crucial and in case of failure to arrest them we are going to publish their photos as wanted persons,” said Enanga adding that motive behind Nagirinya’s murder will be revealed when the prime suspects on run have been also arrested.
Meanwhile, on another double murder that happened at Entebbe Express on the 5th this month, Enanga said that potential lines of inquiry have been established by the investigation team which will enable them to identify suspects.
“We have discovered that there was an involvement of the second and third party in this killing and as we talk our task teams especially forensics has discovered some very distinct DNA samples from the specimens which were found at the scene,” said Enanga.
He noted that the moment an arrest is done there will have a comparison of the DNA samples with them (suspects).
