A trailer has on Monday morning rammed into Centenary Bank, Bugiri Branch.
According to Uganda Radio Network (URN), The accident occurred at around 4.00am on Monday, when the driver of the trailer registration number UBD 091C/UBD 669H lost control and it rammed into the building located on Grant Street, along the Iganga-Tororo Highway. It destroyed the waiting area, Cash tills, and the manager’s office.
Police have cordoned off the area and restricted entry to only detectives and selected bank staff to carry on with investigations. It is said that the trailer was transporting cement from Tororo District when the accident occurred.
James Mubi, the Busoga East regional police spokesperson said that a driver whose identity has been withheld was arrested at 9.00am to aid investigations into the cause of the accident.
