The bishop of Kabale diocese Rt. Rev. Bishop Callistus Rubaramira is set to open a new Catholic parish.
Muhanga parish in Rukiga district will be officially opened on October 6, this year and will be led by Rev. Fr. Prosper Rugambawa who has been serving as a parish priest of Kishanje parish.
Bishop Rubaramira unveiled the new parish on Saturday afternoon at Rushorooza hill, diocese headquarters during the yearly diocesan family day celebrations.
The creation of Muhanga parish puts the total number of parishes in the diocese to 35.
