Police together with the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) have arrested three prime suspects in the murder of social worker Maria Nagirinya and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa.
The arrested suspects even include the man who was captured on CCTV in a red jacket driving Nagirinya’s car, according to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
The police mouthpiece also said that the suspects were arrested on Sunday night from Bristol Bar in Natete, a Kampala suburb.
“A simcard belonging to Kitayimbwa has also been recovered from the suspects,”he said.
Enanga further revealed that they are now interrogating the arrested suspects for more information.
Nagirinya and Kitayimbwa were abducted on August 28, 2019, and later found murdered two days later and their bodies dumped in Mukono district.
The 28 year old was working as a project manager at Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI), a Muyenga based non governmental organisation.
