Police in Rubanda is investigating circumstances under which a 32 years old man was allegedly lynched by mob over stealing a goat.
Gilbert Arinitwe of Rwenkuriju cell Muyanje parish Bubare subcounty, Rubanda district was allegedly murdered on Tuesday at around 2:00 pm in Kashakyi cell Bubare parish,Bubare sub county from the home of Bernard Twineruhanga after stealing a goat.
The Kigezi police spokes person Elly Maate says that the suspect was caught in the the goat`s barn and Twineruhanga made an Alarm that attracted neighbors that lynched the suspect and died instantly.
Maate adds that postmortem was done at the scene and handed over the body to relatives for burial.
Inquiries are underway as the case has been filed at Rubanda police station under CRB 332/2019.
