The residents of two villages in Itojo, Ruhaama county,are up in arms against their Member of Parliament Mugabe Moses Kahima for failing to deliver what he promised them during election campaigns.
The residents of Kitookye and Kakanju in Ruhanga parish are accusing the area MP for failing to fulfill his pledge of constructing community roads that connects two villages and extending gravity water.
According to NRM chairperson Itojo sub county Enock Mugararu , leaders are like black winged pratincole birds that announces the coming of grass hoppers (Ebiranga Nseneene) because they come and ‘promise us Heaven on Earth.’
Mugararu noted that since MP Kahima was elected he has never crossed to Itojo Sub County to consult the voters who mandated him to represent them.
The chairperson Kitookye village Bamukwatsa Nathan lamented that the area is impassible because of poor roads and they cannot reach markets for their commodities for income at house hold level.
He added that other areas are developing but Ruhanga parish is underdeveloped since they do not have clean and safe water which risks them to acquiring water related diseases.
The chairperson Kakanju village Robert Byaruhanga noted they are suffering because of their leaders for not helping in tackling the most itching services in their areas.
Recently, Kahima was quoted blaming the challenges facing the people of Ruhaama County to its biggest size agitating for dividing it.
Kahima revealed that the geographical area of Ruhaama County has hindered him from serving diligently.
However, the former Ruhaama county aspirant Eng Jackson Mubangizi Kabikire asked voters to always elect aggressive leaders who are able to lobby for them.
