A 29-year-old Ugandan woman has been found guilty by a Dubai court of robbing a Tajik tourist of about Shs32m after giving him a very bad massage, local media has reported.
She allegedly committed the crime together with two other women of African descent.
The tourist told Gulf News: “She took me to an apartment and I gave her Dh10. I took off my clothes and she started massaging me. I didn’t like it, so I pushed her away. As I put on my trousers, two African women attacked me and restrained me on the bed.”
Court then heard that the trio stole the money from him and fled, according to Gulf News.
The tourist chased the unnamed defendant and passers-by helped him arrest her. She is expected to serve six months in jail before she is deported.
In related news, another Ugandan will be deported after also serving a six month jail sentence for stealing guests’ money amounting to Dirhams80,000 (about Shs80m) and other valuables.
The 26-year-old man is a cleaner in a five-star hotel, was caught on camera stealing the Shs80m from rooms over three-months before transferring it to Uganda before he was arrested and sentenced on Thursday.
Court heard that the Ugandan – also unamned- was eventually caught with receipts for the cash transfers and a guest’s diamond ring.
“We went back to the CCTV footage and made sure that it was indeed the defendant who cleaned all the rooms in question,” a security source said, adding: “He at first denied any wrongdoing but cash and receipts were later found in his accommodation room.”
The suspect was arrested on February 4 and he pleaded guilty in court.
