Democratic Party President Norbert Mao has advised veteran sports journalist Joseph Kabuleta to upgrade his ‘weekly rants’ into a RIOT, now that he has started to have encounters with the police.
The Watchman Ministries lead pastor was arrested last Friday evening from Drew & Jacs, Lugogo Forest Mall by security personnel and bundled into a vehicle registration number UBB 459D. He was later released on Tuesday on police bond.
According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, Kabuleta repeatedly posted grossly offensive message on Facebook, under ‘Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant,’ referring to the Fountain of Honor as ‘a Gambler, Thief and Liar’. Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act, 2011, criminalizes such acts of communication.
Through his social media platform on Thursday, Mao suggested that after the encounter with police, Kabuleta should not surrender now that he is just starting on the long walk to freedom.
“The Lord reigns! No retreat. No Surrender as @HEBobiwine sang, ‘the road is long but when we persist we shall reach’. It is a long walk to freedom but we shall prevail if we persist. I suggest that the weekly Rant should be upgraded to a RIOT, (Righteous Invasion Of Truth),” Mao said.
Mao’s suggestion came after Kabuleta shared a post in which he thanked the people that supported him during the time he was held in police custody.
“I thank freedom activists @norbertmao, @kizzabesigye1, @HEBobiwine, @EriasLukwago, @SemujjuNganda who stood with me as I walked a path they’ve trodden. @uglawsociety, media colleagues @cobbo3 @Kalinaki @nsengoba and several others who showed their support. God bless you all!” Kabuleta shared.
