The Uganda Police Force has mourned former Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kisembo.
Mr Kisembo died on Thursday at Platinum Hospital in Kampala.
The deceased was IGP from the year 1999 to 2001.
“We will never forget the excellent leadership he gave to the Uganda Police Force during the many years he served. At the time of his death, he was the Acting Director United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and Treatment of Offenders (UNAFRI),” said Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga in a statement issued yesterday.
“The IGP Martin Okoth Ochola has reached out to the family of the deceased, and extended his prayers and thoughts to them during this time of sadness. We would like to thank all members of the UPF, UNAFRI, and the public who have reached out to the family in this time of sadness. We ask them to continue praying for family.”
Enanga also revealed that the IGP tasked the Director Welfare and Production to work with the bereaved family to ensure that the late is honoured in a way befitting his life and position in the UPF.
