Chameleone tells Bobi Wine President Museveni is just a user

Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has run to his fellow musician Bobi Wine for political backup, after people doubted his political motives.

Given his NRM political back ground, Chameleone recently received mixed reactions from the opposition and public, after he joined Democratic Party (DP), as people claimed that the singer might be a mole, sent by President Museveni to spy on the opposition.

Through his social media page on Monday, Bobi Wine said that it has been long since he last hosted Chameleone at his home, but because of his political ambitions, the Mateeka singer was one of his weekend visitors.

“Yesterday evening, it was nice hosting my friend and fellow artiste Jose Chameleone at my home in Magere after so many years. We discussed a wide range of issues from reminiscing the old times, the current state of the music industry, but most importantly the future of our country. Jose informed me that a few month ago, he made a decision to join People Power,” Bobi Wine, laso Kyadondo East legislator said.

According to Bobi Wine, Chameleone claimed that the reason as to why he dumped NRM for People Power is because President Museveni is ‘just a user, with nothing left to offer to the country’.

“He repented to me that he was singing praises for Museveni just for the money but not out of conviction and that he now agrees with us that Museveni and his regime has destroyed our country and its time for us as a generation to redeem it,” he said.

Chameleone sighted out that the biggest problem he is facing so far in the politics game, is that many people don’t believe that he really left NRM for People Power, as many see him a mole.

However Bobi Wine advised him to not be surprised by the public or opposition’s reaction about him, because NRM has always planted moles to disorganize the opposition, so it’s his responsibility to prove the public otherwise.

“I assured him that it is only his actions that will clear him. I also brought it to his attention that the people who have been fighting president Museveni have been disappointed for a very long time with the regime planting people within their ranks to cause confusion and disharmony,” he said.

Chameleone was recently bashed by the Mukono Municipality Legislator, Betty Nambooze, who claimed that the singer is just like his name ‘Chameleone’, and that people should not rely on him for he will soon go back to NRM.
