Quality Shopping Mall in Naalya was a scene of another trigger-happy death, as a life of a budding entrepreneur was silenced in a minute by a scorned guard.
Arnold Ainebyoona Mugisha, a young man in his 20s, was shot dead on Tuesday morning by a yet to be identified security guard after he scratched a car in the Quality Shopping Mall, Naalya parking lot with a good’s trolley.
Ainebyoona, one of the owners of Hickory Bar and Restaurant in Kololo, an upmarket suburb of Kampala city, reportedly insulted and boxed the security guard who had requested that he waits for the owner of the scratched car to amicably settle out compensation.
“He abused and punched the guard. The guard went and picked a gun, threateningly pointed it at him. The deceased then arrogantly punched him again, while asking ‘do you know me?’. The guard cocked and shot him in the neck,” an eye witness said.
Another witness says Aine was shot by a second guard after he had reportedly knocked his colleague while trying to flee the scene.
“After scratching someone’s car the guard had asked Aine to wait and address the issue. But he entered his car, reversed into the guard breaking his leg. Another guard open fire on him,” the witness said.
Police is yet to speak about the incident.
After the incident, the security guard was badly beaten by an angry mob before being saved by some people.
He is currently detained at Kira Road Police Station.
