Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is worried about the continuous abductions and mysterious disappearances of his People Power supporters.
This after events promoter Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo Events was arrested by a section of security operatives on Saturday during a press briefing at Max Lounge, Centenary Park.
He is yet to reappear in public.
According to Bobi Wine, Bajjo was in the final stages of organizing a marathon from which proceeds were to support youth in People Power movement.
“This is not a crime!! The scared and collapsing regime is intimidating and harassing everyone who associates with People Power! Our supporters have been illegally arrested, tortured, Kidnapped and shot” Bobi Wine noted.
Bajjo, who recently made news headlines after receiving a slap from Lubaga South legislator, Kato Lubwama while on national television, had used that ‘fame’ accordingly, making him one of the most talked about event promoters and People Power activist.
Recently, People Power spokesperson Joel Senyonyi tasked Uganda Police to investigate the brutal attacks on their members.
“We have had a number of our mobilizers and supporters brutalized by police and state security agencies. Their crime being that they are ardent supporters of People Power,” Senyonyi said.
He alleged that a People Power mobilizer in Buvuma Islands, Salongo Stephan Lukoma was shot dead by a security agent. In the same week; Moses Okot Bitek in Amolator District was shot and injured by the bodyguard of a Residence District Commissioner (RDC). In Gulu District an artiste, Bosimic Otim also a People Power mobilizer was beaten and injured on the head by security agents in Gulu while shooting a video of his People Power song.
