Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has refuted what was termed ‘inaccurate’ news that President Yoweri Museveni has fired acting executive director Andrew Kitaka only six months into the job, and replaced him with Jamil Ssenyonjo.
According to various media outlets, Mr Ssenyonjo, the acting Assistant commissioner in charge of Uganda Revenue Authority’s public and corporate affairs, was to take office immediately.
There has been a lot of mention on several pages about a ‘new’ appointment @KCCAUG. Please note that there’s no communication to that effect from the appointing authority. We are carrying out our duties normally for a better city. Have a blessed day.

“Please disregard news making rounds on social media that HE the President has appointed a new KCCA ED. Please note that Eng. Andrew Kitaka Mubiru is still Ag. KCCA Executive Director. For Accurate information, you are advised to always crosscheck with KCCA social Media platforms or KCCA Spokesperson Peter H Kaujju,” a statement from KCCA reads in part.
Eng. Kitaka was appointed in acting capacity on December 18 2018 after former executive director Jennifer Musisi threw in the towel to join Harvard University on a special fellowship.
