Kabale police is investigating circumstances under which two people were allegedly murdered in different areas on the same date.
One of the victims is Peter Aliganyira aka Alias Makyali, 38 years of Nyamiyaga cell, whose body was discovered on Monday morning at Bugandara village along Kyanamira Kyekyera road with injuries on the head and other body parts.
According to the Kigezi police spokesperson, Elly Maate, the injuries could have caused his death. Police visited the scene and kicked off investigations. A murder case is registered at Kyanamira police under file number SD 04/13/05/2019.
The second alleged murder is of one Kabagambe Stephen, 62 years of Rushambya cell Upper Bugongi ward, Northern division Kabale municipality. He was allegedly killed by his brother Atungire Aggrey, 31, of the same address due to a land conflict.
Witnesses say on Monday morning, the deceased went to clear a piece of land in Rushambya. It is here that the suspect met him and accused him of tempering with his boundary marks leading to a fight. In the process, Atungire hit him on the head with a hoe, killing him instantly.
The suspect arrested and inquiries underway. This case has been registered at Kabale police station under file number SD 26/13/05/19.
