PostBank has appointed Edwin Keronga as the Acting Managing Director following the resignation of Stephen Mukweli.
Mukweli who has been the bank’s Managing Director since the early 2000s, handed in his resignation to the bank’s board chairman Grace Bakunda last Friday.
In a statement issued on Thursday 9, 2019, the bank management informed its customers, business partners and other stakeholders that a dedicated team has been put in place to ensure smooth operations in all the branches countrywide.
“Banking operations in all our outlets are going on normally and has not in any way been affected by the events in the recent weeks. PostBank Uganda Limited is 100 per cent owned by the Government of Uganda and supervised by the Bank of Uganda,” said the management.
Brief profile of Edwin Keronga
Keronga is Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) as well as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), he is a Certified Risk Based Auditor as well as a Certified Forensic Investigation Professional.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from Makerere University. Mr. Keronga has over 29 years of work experience.
Before joining PostBank in January, 2009 as Head of Audit, he worked as a Principal Inspectorate Officer with Inspectorate of Government.
