Jamaican Reggae King Buju Banton has pledged full support to the jailed Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
After serving a seven year jail sentence, Buju and Bobi Wine met earlier this year in Jamaica during the Rebel Salute Reggae Festival 2019.
And according to Bobi Wine, after the festival he was able to share inspiration stories about freedom fighting and being persistent.
‘It’s very pleasant to see that the seven years he spent in jail didn’t break him. As a matter of fact he is even stronger! He reminded me that jail is part of the price those who fight for freedom must pay before things get better” Bobi Wine stated.
Possibly after their talk, Buju felt the need to stand with the now jailed Bobi Wine as he encouraged him to not give up on fighting for freedom.
“In this day 2019 we as Africans still see it fit to silence the voice of the people???? No more… Bobi Wine I Buju Banton stands with you and my people in Uganda. Freedom” Buju posted.
Bobi Wine was on Monday remanded to Luzira Prison by the Buganda road court on grounds of staging unlawful protest in 2018, this protest was staged by the Kyarenga singer with his colleagues as they demanded that Over the Top Tax should be removed.
