Musician turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been summoned to office of Criminal Investigative Directorate, CID in Kibuli.
Bobi Wine has been ordered to appear at CID office on Friday, April 26 at 2:00pm to answer queries of the alleged cases of inciting violence and unlawful assembly.
“This is therefore, in pursuance of the provision of Section 27A of the police Act (as amended) required to report to the acting commissioner in charge of Electoral and Political Crimes on April 26 at 2pm,” reads the summon.
Bobi Wine is accused of defying the Inspector General of Police Martin Ochola who had earlier cancelled his Kyarenga Extra Concert.
“Inquiries are being conducted in the above quoted reference whereby on the 22/04/2019, you were allegedly involved in inciting violence and unlawful assembly in defiance of the inspector general of police guidelines during preparation of Kyarenga Extra concert in Busaabala” reads the summon in parts.
AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi, on behalf of Ochola had on Easter Sunday issued a letter cancelling Bobi Wine’s music show, but allegedly he defied the police notice as he went on with the concert preparations.
Since then Bobi Wine has been kept under house arrest at his residence in Magere, but on Thursday he managed to escape, to attend a burial of former NRM Chairperson Haji Siraji Samanya Lyavaala, that happened in Bugiri.
