Joshua Cheptegei on Sunday won a gold medal at the 2019 World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus, Denmark.
Cheptegei becomes the first Ugandan to win the Senior Men’s title at the championships.
He beat fellow Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo who finished second and Kenya’s Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor who became third.
In 2018, the athlete won two gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m races respectively at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
