A village council meeting has banished a 25-year old woman for stealing sugar.
The woman, Agnes Kawuma was found guilty of stealing 1 kilogramme of sugar from a shop in Buwekula village, Jinja.
The LC1 Court in Mafubira Sub-county-Jinja presided over by the chairperson Jamwa Waiswa also claimed the Kawuma was a ‘perpetual thief’.
And although she pleaded guilty, the court was not so lenient telling her to return to Wanyange village in Mafubira sub-county in Jinja where she hailed from.
