Damiano Akuze, a Kamuli based witchdoctor has apologised to Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
Akuze has also withdrawn a case lodged in Jinja High court in which sought Shs200m from the Speaker for failing to pay for ‘consultancy services he had rendered almost two decades ago.
But Parliament through Clerk Jane Kibirige dismissed Akuze’s claims then as ‘fabricated aiming at maligning Kadaga who has worked tirelessly earn the position she holds now.’
In a March 7 letter to Kadaga, and copied to the resident judge of the Jinja High Court, Akuze ‘wholeheartedly apologized for the unreasonable action of filing a baseless, useless case’.
“I also regret that the said case has tarnished your good and honoured reputation that you have earned for a long period of time serving this country and the world as a whole in different capacities,” said Akuze.
“I was not influenced nor funded by anyone but rather made the decision from his own volition. Counsel Mangeni Ivan Geoffrey has had no involvement in this at all save for the notice of intention which he wrote where I had misrepresented the fact to him.”
