The former Vice President of Uganda Specioza Wandira Kazibwe has been given a 48 hour ultimatum to apologize to Ugandans over indiscipline.
During weekend, Kazibwe exhibited uncalled for action when she attacked singer turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine whom she accused of ‘turning up for the burial of a person he ‘did not know’.
Bobi Wine was among the thousands of mourners who went to Jinja for the burial of Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze who succumbed to leukemia last week.
Following Kazibwe’s shameful act, the opposition politicians in the Busoga sub region have tasked her to apologise for her misconduct.
Fred Mwesigwa, the Democratic Party (DP) President General Press Secretary said if she refuses to swallow humble pie, they will deal with her politically.
“As Opposition in Busoga, we apologise for the indiscipline Dr Kazibwe exhibited towards visitors, including Bobi Wine, who came to attend the Bishop’s burial. In Busoga culture, it is not a crime to attend the burial of someone you didn’t visit when he was still alive. She should apologize,’’ said Mwesigwa.
The Jinja Municipal Council Speaker, Moses Bizitu, a Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) cadre, said that in their culture they welcome everyone who comes to grieve, but as Basoga they are ashamed by her indiscipline.
The ultimatum ends Thursday at noon.
