Doctors at Uganda Cancer Institute have said former Makindye West Member of Parliament Hajj Hussein Kyanjo has not more than two years to live.
The sad revelation has been made by journalist Sadab Kitatta who is also Kyanjo’s close friend.
Posting on his Facebook wall, Kitatta said, “Last Saturday, Asuman Basalirwa asked me to accompany him to see Hajji Hussein Kyanjo. Basalirwa didn’t want to tell me the devastating news about the former Makindye West MP’s health but only said to me, “Despite your other engagements, you need to see Hajji Kyanjo.” I failed to link up with Basalirwa but my heart kept wondering why he insisted on going with me.”
Adding, “ Later in the evening, I learnt that Hajji Kyanjo had been diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer of the Colon, and the medics at Uganda Cancer Institute had told him that he won’t live long – not more that 2 years. Subhanallah! That was the most devastating news.”
On Thursday, the Justice Forum (Jeema) Secretary General was flown to India for immediate treatment.
According to Ssentongo Abdulnoor Kyamundu, Jeema party Spokesperson, doctors are trying to ascertain whether the newly diagnosed disease is connected to his current ailment.
Kyanjo has battled with Dystonia, a rare disease that eats up certain organs and muscles of the body.
For the last six years, he has had two toxin injections on the lower part of his jaws to keep the muscles in shape.
