State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi never ceases to amaze Ugandans with his humorous ventures.
In 2016, Kiwanda shocked the nation and the world at large when he officially launched ‘rolex’ as a tourism product aimed at boosting the industry. The Ugandan delicacy is made up of a rolled chapatti, eggs and vegetables.
Now, he has another surprise for the country.
Through his ministry, the honourable minister has added curvy and sexy Ugandan women to the long list of the country’s tourist attractions.
While launching the beauty pageant dubbed ‘Miss Curvy Uganda’ on Tuesday in Kampala, Kiwanda said Uganda is endowed with nice looking women who can be used to promote the tourism industry.
The pageant is aimed at selecting the most curvaceous and sexy women in Uganda. Finalists will be determined in June this year.
Ann Mungoma, the lead organiser for the beauty pageant, is optimistic that when these ladies flaunt their endowments, it will enhance the visibility and appreciation of Ugandan people.
However, social media critics have punched holes in Kiwanda’s initiative describing it as a move to advertise prostitutes.
Goldameir Rwakairu Namara wondered, “Don’t we have any tourism professionals in this ministry? Why advertise prostitution of all good things we have to offer tourists in Uganda?Shame!
Peter Nyanzi Snr said, “So, we still can’t make a difference between ‘tourism ambassador’ and ‘Tourism attraction’!?”
Whereas a one Grace Natabaalo requested the minister to also find space for men with well endowed ‘magical sticks’.
“We should add Ugandan men with big penises.”
