A Kenyan national has been arrested after trying to find his way into Uganda through illegal means.
Martin Munene is currently being held at Jinja Central Police Station.
He was arrested on Wednesday at Ambercoart URA check point near the Nile bridge after being sighted by URA personnel hanging under a truck reg. number KBN 936A. He was hiding by a spare tyre.
The 26-year-old was handed over to Jinja Police together with the trailer driver Moshi Robinson, 30.
According to Kiira Region Spokesperson Dina Nandawula, Munene claims to be a resident of Kisumu and he does not possess any documents.
‘The trailer was carrying raw materials for Gentex factory located in Nakawa. The driver claims was not aware of anybody travelling on the truck and is also detained on holding charge of human trafficking,” she noted.
