Musician Bobi Wine is to sue Uganda Police Force for continuously cancelling his music shows without clear explanation.
Through his lawyer Asuman Basalirwa, Bobi Wine said Police has turned into a National Resistance Movement arm to kill his business yet other musicians their shows are allowed.
Basalirwa, who is also Member of Parliament, Bugiri Municipality said since police has continuously disrespected Parliamentary orders, their hope is now in courts of law.
“Last week we were in the Parliament it was agreed that Police will not again interfere with Bobi Wine’s concert but police didn’t respect this parliamentary order. So our next step to sue them and every thing is set,” said Basalirwa.
According to Bobi Wine, police has always be cancelling his concerts claiming that he has not fulfilled all the requirements necessary for one to conduct a musical show. However, whenever he goes to Police Headquarters, all officers responsible hide from him.
“Police is acting out of Constitution to cancel my shows. All what they requested me do was in place but they have come with their big truck and tears gas to act violently on Ugandans who seek food for their families,” said Bobi on Wednesday at his beach Busabala.
Bobi Wine’s concerts have been canceled since October.
On Christmas day, two of concerts where he was set to perform were also canceled.
