The permanent secretary in the ministry of local government Benjamin Kumumanya has assured the Ugandans that the government is committed to extending service delivery to the grass root level such that there is equal distribution of resources.
Kumumanya made the remarks this week while commissioning the newly created Nyabushenyi sub county which was curved out of Nyabihoko Sub County at ceremony held at Nyabushenyi Health centre II grounds in Kajara county Ntungamo district.
He called on members of the public and various stakeholders to join hands together in the fight against development saboteurs who are hindering them to get services as expected in their communities.
Kumumanya asked public to monitor and report errant officers to authorities who fail to perform and implement government duties. He said people should play an oversight role in governments programs.
He condemned civil servants especially health workers and teachers who absenteeism themselves from duty expressing that it is a disservice to the people and must stop.
He also asked them to promote unity as the only way to develop Nyabushenyi Sub County.
At the same function, the Kajara county Member of Parliament Timuzigu Michael Kamugisha urged all leaders in the newly created Nyabushenyi Sub County to ensure that the sub county does not start conflicting for selfish interests rather fight for togetherness and always supervise civil servants who will be posted them.
The Ntungamo district chairperson Dennis Singahache commended for team work and assured them the creation of new administrative will continue to create jobs for um employed Ugandans.
Deputy RDC Ntungamo Byarugaba Isaiah Kanyamahane accredited the government of NRM for implementing decentralisation which has enabled people to have good service like roads, health units and schools.
The Nyabihoko sub county NRM chairperson Matsiko Polly hailed the district and sub county councils for pass resolution for the creation of Nyabushenyi sub county which will automatically bring service closer to the people.
Nyabushenyi sub county which starts today will be comprised of 20 cells and four parishes of Mukinga,Kinoni,Eihema and Nyabushenyi and this make a total of with 11 town councils, 19 Sub Counties in Ntungamo district .
