The Minister in charge of Kampala Beti Olive Namisango Kamya has on Tuesday appointed Eng. Andrew Kitaka Mubiru as the acting Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
The move follows the resignation of Jennifer Musisi last week, after serving in the position for seven years.
In her December 18 letter, Kamya said she has assigned Mubiru to perform the duties of the executive director as a way of ensuring continuity and smooth running of the city, as they wait for President Museveni to appoint Musisi’s replacement.
Mubiru is substantively the Director Engineering and Technical Services at the authority.
“At the same time, I hereby affirm Mr Samuel Serunkuma to continue carrying on the duties of Deputy Executive Director KCCA until such a time when the substantive one is appointed,” said the minister.
Adding, “I appeal to all staff of KCCA to remain focused , objective and ensure performance to the expectation of the public and the nation at large I also appeal to the general public to accord them maximum cooperation.”
Musisi announced her exit on October 15 and submitted her resignation letter to President Museveni, indicating she would vacate office on December 15.
