Legislator Gerald Karuhanga has delivered 5,000 two-months old chicks to Ntungamo Municipality in fulfillment of pledges made during the 2016 parliamentary elections.
While delivering the chicks on Thursday at his office in Nyabubare, Ntungamo, Karuhanga appealed to the beneficiaries to embrace urban farming as the only way to improve prosperity for all and fight against poverty at house hold level in the Municipality.
He said that out of 5,000 chicks every individual will be given 10 chicks as startup tasking them to look after them carefully.
Karuhanga noted that Ntungamo Municipality has 26 cells and all will benefit from the donation and all which he pledged will be full filled in phased manner.
The Ntungamo Municipality mayor Jacob Kafureeka alias Jack Jex commended the area MP Karuhanga for fulfilling his pledge, warning the beneficiaries against selling them but use them for sustainable income.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their happiness expressed gratitude to Karuhanga for fulfilling the pledge promising to reward him in 2021.
