Pacific Summit Hotel in Kapchorwa has been shut down.
The development follows an abrupt inspection that took place on Wednesday by Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) officials together with the Kapchorwa Health Inspector.
During the inspection, the officials found out that the hotel’s wall had cracks, sagging roof and ceiling of the conference hall, dirty kitchen as well as lack of stair cases which factors expose high risk to clients.
The officials revealed that the hotel, located on Kenyatta Lane, does not meet the minimum standards, according to the Public Health Act 281.
“The Hotel management has now been given six months to renovate and failure to do so will mean end of the business for them” Elgon FM Kapchorwa reported earlier Thursday.
