Kabula County MP James Kakooza is reportedly out of danger after he was admitted to Mbarara Hospital following an accident with a bodaboda on Sunday. One person died three others are said to be in critical condition. This is the second accident within a month involving motorcyclist that the legislator, formerly a Primary Care State Minister for Health, has been involved in.
Witnesses say Kakooza rammed his Golf car Reg No. UBB 826F into a boda boda carrying two passengers at Nyakahita-Rwebiteete, Kiruhura District along Mbarara highway, several kilometres from his constituency in Rakai District.
He was allegedly speeding.
He survived with his body guard but Enos Kisakye died instantly. He was a pastor at Lwebitete Church of God.
John Ngumikiriza and a one Byamugisha were taken to Lyantonde hospital in a critical condition.
Richard Musisi, the Officer in Charge of traffic at Lyantonde District who was present at the scene declined to speak to the press saying the accident happened outside his area of operation, according to local reports.
“But I have gathered all the required information that will be shared with you at the right time,” he said.
