While addressing Kabale University graduands on Friday, Prof Mondo Kagonyera, also the the institution vice chancellor said government has always favored students from richer families – who are capable of paying feels – hence leaving out those from poorer families.
A similar problem has ravaged Makerere University, according to Prof. Kagonyera, a former chancellor of the oldest university in the country.
About 1,200 students graduated at the western Uganda-based institution in different disciplines.Kabale University, which started in 2002 at Kikungiri hill, Kabale municipality as a private University was three years ago transformed into a government University.
Kagonyera also called on graduands to keep the values they’ve learnt from the University.
Among the graduands was the Ntungamo LC5 Chairman, Mr Denis Simpson Singahache who graduated with masters of arts in Development Studies.
