Five men who on Thursday brutalized and arrested a civilian identified as Kawooya Yusuf in broad day light, have today been arrested and charged.
The suspects have been arraigned before the Unit Disciplinary Court in Mbuya and they were charged with conduct prejudicial to the good order and discipline of defense forces.
A video clip filmed by bystanders shows armed men in plain clothes battering Kawooya before arresting him at Portal Avenue near Christ the King Church in Kampala at around lunch time.
The victim is gun-butted in the chest and stomach, and dragged before he is shoved into a waiting commuter taxi number UAF 325S. Still inside the taxi the Kawooya could be heard wailing for his life as it drives off.
According to Soft Power, an online news site, Deputy UPDF spokesperson Lt

The army mouthpiece named one of the suspects as Corporal Daniel Ssenkungu, who together with his colleagues, he said were “made to attorn for their mischief.”
He also said that the incident was unfortunate and regrettable thus assuring Ugandans that any person who breaks the law will be held accountable for his/ her mischief.
“This is to regret this unfortunate incident and to assure the public that such conduct is unacceptable and anyone who breaks the law will be held to account.” Akiiki said.
