Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi, the Rubanda district woman member of Parliament on Monday contributed 50 bags of cement towards the reconstruction of Karengyeri Primary School.
The school in Karengyeri parish, Muko subcounty, Rubanda district western Uganda was recently destroyed by heavy rains last week.
“I will contribute more in days to come,” Akampurira said this week.
The school has 698 pupils and the disaster has forced the school administrators to call for a fundraising to to put up the school structures back.
“I call upon you parents, old boys and old girls and well wishers to contribute something and put up the destroyed structures,” Akampurira said.
According to the school headteacher, the school requires Shs300 million for the rebuild the school structures again.
