Last Tuesday, Masaka town was swamped as sports personalities and some local musicians came together and celebrated Uganda’s Independence Day. And among those that attended the function, organized at Club Tarvern Kick, were Buddu players who ha qualified in Masaza Cup finals after defeating Busujju 2-0 on aggregate at Masaka Recreation Grounds.
To their surprise, Buddu players were treated to loads of drinks, edible and music by Masaka’s business man Emmanuel Lwasa Kaweesi, who has also become a household name in country especially in the circles of celebrities.
Lwaasa has always emphasized the need to give back to the Masaka’s team Buddu, but more importantly boosting sports in the region. For the start, he promised to cater for all the necessary requirements for team to qualify. This he full-filled.
“I think it’s an indicator of boosting their moral,” Lwasa revealed to Watchdog Uganda reporter.
“I grew up loving football and nothing can stop me from supporting my home town and all the talents that comes my way.”
In addition, Lwasa also gave goal keeper Adad Mutumba a new pair of ‘modern’ gloves . Mutumba has been focal in his side’s performance this season.
Buddu play Singo, who won the trophy in 2015 by beating them 5-0, in the finals and Lwasa has promised to buy each goal scored by Buddu players in finals at Shs500,000.
