Despite having hordes of fans across the world, being married to a reality TV star Kim Kardashian and being a proud dad to daughter North, the American rapper is rarely seen cracking a grin.
Ever since he touched down in Uganda last Friday, Kanye West has kept his usual scowl face.
Fortunately, on Monday while meeting President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe, the Yeezus rapper did the least expected from him; he SMILED.
We are not sure what sparked his smile, but most probably it could be the President’s handshake.
At the meeting, Museveni gave the rapper and his reality tv star wife Kim Kardashian a copy of his book, ‘Sowing the Mustard Seed’ and in exchange the celebrity couple gave him a pair of Yeezy adidas sneakers said to cost about $500 (Shs1,891,930). Amazon sells a copy of Sowing the Mustard Seed at $6 (Shs22,000).
On why, he rarely smiles, Kanye West told UK’s news tabloid Daily Mirror that, “Back when I was working on Yeezus, I saw this book from the 1800s and it was velvet-covered with brass and everything. I looked at all these people’s photos, and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren’t smiling,”
He added, “People, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, ‘Why you not smiling?’ and I think, not smiling makes me smile. When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling because it just wouldn’t look as cool.”
Kanye and Kim came to Uganda last Friday and are residing at Chobe Safari Lodge located inMurchison Falls National Park in North-Western Uganda.
