Uganda Christian University (UCU) has won the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (IPICT) moot competition at Strathmore University in Kenya.
This is the second time the Mukono-based institution has won the highly competitive competition.
UCU team faced 15 other teams from universities all over the region and progressed to the finals against the host.
UCU’s team was made up of second year students Joy Koelewijn, Kyoma Philip and Ruth Nanjobe.
Moots are mock judicial proceedings set up to examine a hypothetical case as an academic exercise and apparently moots are integrated into the UCU curriculum to give students practical training.
