UNCC- The National Theatre will stage a flag off show “Illegitimate” at the National Theatre on 17th October 2018 starting 07:00pm.
The team of performers is a fusion of professional actors/dancers and talented students from Green Hill Academy Kibuli. This is one of the ways UNCC nurtures talent among the youngsters by creating such opportunities for them to perform on the same stage with professional.
The group will represent Uganda at the 23 Bursa International Theatre Festival for Children and Youth. The festival that will run from 22nd – 29th October 2018 in Bursa Turkey will bring together theatre professional from 8 different countries aimed at promoting Bi Lateral Cultural relationship between Turkey and partner Countries, promoting intercultural friendship and peace worldwide, promoting cultural values and fusion of societies coming from different countries and cultures with the bonding power of arts, and creating a platform for Artists to share their experiences.
The Uganda’s performance and participation in this festival will showcase Uganda’s rich culture and tourism aspects.
So UNCC has decided to stage a show for Ugandans to enjoy what they are taking to the festival and at the same time get the audience’s feedback.
“Illegitimate” talks about the dangers of child Labour and encourages everyone to keep the Children and Youth in school. The piece is choreographed by Abdul Kinyenya & Nabaggala Lilian M. and produced by Robert Musiitwa on behalf of UNCC-The National Theatre. Music scores by Joel Sebunjo, Giovani Kiyingi & Faizal Mostrixx. It’s performed by Eric Sama, Bgal Jojo, Stuart Kakole, Lukwanzi Kauthar, Akot Maria, Mpanda Samuel and Agaba Prince.
Entry fee is Shs10,000 Students and Shs 20,000 for others Others.
