Rema Namakula has come out to clear the air on matters regarding the message in her newly-released song, Sili Muyembe.
Sili Muyembe (I am not a mango) caused a lot of controversy and traffic on social media given the message behind behind the lyrics. Critics and fans alike came out to allege that Namakula, also Kenzo’s baby mama was targeting the Afrima award winner.
However, Rema has trashed all allegations, claiming that ‘all that was loose talk’ and that the song has no ‘relationship whatsoever with what is happening in her relationship’.
In the song, she expresses how tired she feels for waiting on that someone, yet everywhere she passes many men are running after her and willing to do anything she might need.
Now Rema says she bought the song from Mugerwa, the original composer of this song.
“After receiving the song, I liked lyrics and then decided to record it but never had anything to do with its composition,” she says, adding that maybe the public decided to interpret the message in the song differently.
Rema also says that she is not a kind to influence her husband through song.
