Francis Zaake, the Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament on Thursday morning landed at Entebbe Airport from India where he has spent over a month receiving specialized treatment.
Zaake was admitted to Manipal Hospital following torture by security operatives during Arua by-election chaos in August. On that day, Zaake was arrested together with Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, candidate Kasiano Wadri, MP Gerald Karuhanga and others, now famously known as ‘Arua 34’.
Upon arrival, Zaake was also been picked from the airport by police and whisked away to his home in Buswabulongo, Mityana like they did with Kyagulanyi when he returned from USA.
On Wednesday, Police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango revealed that they had intelligence that some people were being mobilised to go to Entebbe Airport to welcome Zaake in processions which was against the Public Order Management Act of 2013 (POMA) since they(police) did not receive any notification from the organisers.
