Betway Power drew first blood in the best of seven National Basketball League Finals, obliterating City Oilers 85-66 at the Lugogo Arena on Wednesday evening.
Power point guard Joseph Ikong sank in a game high 24 points while Geofrey Soro and Paul Odong added 14 and 12 points respectively, as Power WO the first of seven finals games.
Power started brightly ending the first quarter 17-9, but Oilers tried to claw back with Jimmy Enabu leading the charge. He posted 15 points while Josh Johnson was two points short adding 13 on the night.
Steven Omony’s experience on the night didn’t count as Power stepped up their defence and and made it count on offence as Paul Odong, who was two for four from down town in the last quarter helped in giving Power breathing space.
Six more games to be played.
