Real estate businessman Edward Beyendeza Bekunda has challenged political leaders to always seek the people’s views before they make decisions if development is to be realized in their areas of jurisdiction.
Mr Beyendeza said this on Sunday while presiding over the Mpama Church of Uganda, Kyamate deanery fundraising service. The service was aimed at raising Shs47,610,000 for the church’s roof.
He noted some political leaders abandoned their constituencies immediately after the elections instead of returning to seek their views for service delivery.
The businessman also declared intentions to stand for Ntungamo Municipality Parliamentary seat currently occupied by the Hon. Gerald Karuhanga.
The main celebrant, South Ankole diocese Bishop, the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe implored all believers to always thank God for the gift of life and serves Him because whatever they have comes from God and everything shall return to Him after death.
Pioneer Fredrick Rwabukwitsi Rwabukuru thanked God for the life and all people who turned up for fundraising.
Over 33m shillings cash and pledge was raised.
